Coming in this past year at number 340 on the Fortune 500 list was Dick's Sporting Goods (Fortune.com, 2017).

According to Dicks Sporting Goods official website, dickssportinggoods.com (2018), Dick's mission statement is: "Our Mission is to be recognized by our customers as the #1 sports and fitness specialty omni-channel retailer that serves and inspires athletes and outdoor enthusiasts to achieve their personal best through the relentless improvement of everything we do." Dick's is also very active in growing the community of sports by donating thousands of coaches equipment kits to youth sports, reaching over a million young athletes. 

Dick's Sporting Goods, 451110 Sporting Goods Stores (census.gov 2017), is a specialty retailer that deals in the likes of athletic apparel, outerwear, sportswear, athletic footwear, casual footwear, boots, socks, outdoor equipment, fitness equipment, golf equipment, bicycles, scooters, and skateboards (MarketLine 2017). Dick's is in a very competitive market as they compete with other sporting goods store in sportswear, they are also competing with stores in the outdoor equipment business, shoe business, and suppliers selling their own products. Some specific competitors are: Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation, Gander Mountain, Foot Locker, and Wal-Mart (MarketLine 2017). 

Dick's major products are athletic, apparel, footwear, fitness, equipment, family recreation products, golf products, and cycling products. A couple main services lines that Dick's provides is E-retail, coupons and promos, and credit cards (MarketLine 2017). 

Some key statistics is that Dick's Sporting Goods operates 679 stores in 47 of the 50 states. Also, Dick's owns 91 Golf Galaxy stores and 27 Field & Stream stores (MarketLine 2017). Also, according to MarketLine, there are about 13,100 employees of Dick's.
