Individual Assignment -Drew Samson

MIS Meeting

I attended the MIS club meeting and learned a lot about internships. I have already applied to a large number of respected corporations in hope of landing an internship for the summer of 2018. I’ve learned that you must be resilient regarding applying for internships. You must apply for as many as possible. You don’t need much if any experience in that particular field to land the internship gig.
The corporation is taking you on to learn, they’re not expecting you to be an expert in the field. They are grooming you to become a potential employee for them. They want you to contribute to their corporation and absorb as much knowledge as possible. My goal is to land an internship as a hockey scout for a junior team so I can bulk up my resume and gain experience in the field I would like to venture into. I’d like to eventually work a management position for an NHL club.
I am strongly considering joining the MIS club. I haven’t taken the MIS class but I am scheduled to take it next semester. I believe the MIS club would really help me pass MIS with flying colors and prepare me for the business world. MIS is essential to my degree so I would find the club very beneficial.
The MIS club meeting taught me about the ins and outs of internships. The advice given to us by the upperclassmen/women was spectacular.  I did not know what to expect during internships before the club meeting but now I am enlightened about the importance as well as the struggles in the realm of internships.
